Residents of Nagavila are experiencing an epidemic of Chronic Kidney Diseases due to their contaminated water supply.
Nagavila in the Pallama DS division is located in the Puttalam District. Nagavila village is home to more than 300 residents. The residents are mainly farmers and daily wage laborers. People in the area struggle daily with no access to clean drinking water. Thus, they are forced to make a multi kilometer journey to collect water from a nearby village or purchase water for their drinking and other needs or purchase drinking water at exorbitant costs.
Installation of an RO Plant in the village of Nagavila using an existing water source. Install a Water Filling Station situated in a central location which will provide the residents of Nagavila and neighboring villages with access to clean drinking water- free of harmful pollutants. Further, it will reduce the incidence rate of water borne illnesses in the resident population. Moreover, Gammadda will introduce a preventive and periodic maintenance plan to ensure project longevity by forming a Gammadda Saviya Society.
